Tucked in a dense grove of trees sits Kozy Kabins.  A camp dedicated to outdoor adventures in Japan.  Surrounded by a sea of trees your child will be secluded from the sounds of the city.  It's the perfect place to investigate and explore natural surroundings.  The main road is blocked from oncoming traffic.  Your child can play freely without worrying about cars or trucks whizzing by.

All-inclusive package of 4 meals, bungalow accommodation, and half day of sports. Chose from River Trekking (easy), Flying Fox (easy - medium), and Easy Abseiling (medium - thrilling) sport activities.  Campground and sport's insurance also included.

Usual package price is 16,000 Yen.  After a 20% TMG member discount only 12,800 Yen.  Transportation costs for the entire weekend is 6,500 Yen (purchase on the day).  Total adventure weekend cost is 19,300 Yen per adult instead of 22,500 Yen.

Tokyo, Chiba, and Gunma: Anyone up for a brief weekday vacation? I'll be up in the woods from March 16 to 19 with little Felix. American hippies from the 70s with dogs are enjoying the campsite up at Mt Haruna. Are you ready to break free?  Or still think you're the only one so busy?

Definitely more time was spent outside back in the 70s.  A time when phones and TVs were not transportable.  And if you were forced by any given situation to go back in time, you'd adjust in a matter of months, weeks, if not days.  What do you say?

Snowmobile tours are run on weekends twice a month during white season from December 17, 2011 to March 18, 2012.  The prize includes half day of guided snowmobile riding for two, worth 16,000 Yen, which is transferable to your friends.  Heated bungalow accomodation, BBQ and breakfast are priced at 6,000 Yen per person for those who wish to stay over the weekend.

We were told that in some parts of Gunma, radiation levels rose as high as 3.2 µSv/h.  A Tokyo-based international school reported that Minakami has deemed not safe to conduct this year's adventure fieldtrip.  In response, they arranged for a more westerly location.

While we agree that those levels are elevated, they are in no way health concerning.  Though rest assured, we're happy to announce that according to our own readings, the Mt. Haruna base hasn't seen any elevated levels yet.  Readings are unchanged at around 0.2 µSv/h since March 11.

We'll however restart our regular tests up at Mt. Haruna just to be on the safe side.  Below a screenshot of independent readings taken from the region.  The official ground radiation data can be accessed here.
